Day 187

'These organs aren't vital... there Instrumental', Pen on Paper
Think I'm going to start working a bit backwards over the next week or so until I catch up in terms of the writing accompanying the text, starting with today as I think it needs a little bit of an explanation.

Essentially today's drawing is another concept for a t-shirt design, I've been toying with the idea of doing something involving the internal organs for a while. It just so happens after seeing one of those old diagrams that you used to see in science text books in school somewhere recently it brought the notion back to me, so I did a little research as I don't like taking someone else's idea. As suspected the idea had been used somewhere before so I took a slightly different approach to things, which led to thinking of the internal organs as musical instruments, which are as follows:

Trachea - Clarinet due to similar shape and it air having to pass through it to work
Lungs - Accordion, due to the vague similarity in movement and the inhale and exhale of air to make sound
Heart - Chinese Hand Drum, it's the heart which beats so it seemed like a drum would fit best and this particular drum was small enough to fit with the scale of the rest of the instruments, also you may have seen in Karate Kid 3
Liver - Bass Guitar, again a shape thing and also because that's round about where you would hold a bass when playing it
Stomach - Bagpipes, a very similar shape and also partially because of links with Scotland which is also famous for haggis, so there was a logically step there somewhere.
Kidneys - Maracas, purely a size thing and the fact the normally come in pairs.
Intestines - French Horn, Intricate and continuous shape mimics that of the intestine.
